Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a harvest festival celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada. Traditionally, it has been a time to give thanks for a good harvest.

Nowadays it’s celebrated on the 4th Thursday in November. Families come together and eat lots of traditionally food.

The day after Thanksgiving is called “Black Friday” and it’s the start of the Christmas shopping season. Shopping Centers grant big discounts and stores open very early in the morning.

In my opinion there are advantages and disadvantages about the “Black Friday” as a shopping day. On the one hand it’s good for the economy because the stores make big turnovers and this urges the economy on but on the other hand it’s bad for the environment because more sales mean also more wastes. I think that it’s also bad for the consumers because of the fact that the stores grant high discounts people buy more and spend much money which they may need for something else.
